About

Nelson SPCA

Welcome to Nelson SPCA

Located on 2 acres of scenic land just two miles north of Lovingston, Nelson SPCA is owned and operated by Nelson SPCA to provide a welcoming environment for animals waiting for their forever homes.

Our center is thoughtfully designed to offer a comforting, real-life setting. The facility includes a warm lobby and reception area, thirteen rooms specifically for dogs, five rooms for multiple cats, and specialized isolation rooms for dogs and cats requiring additional care.

Nelson SPCA is also equipped with a grooming and bathing room, a food preparation area, and both indoor and outdoor exercise spaces for dogs. We’re dedicated to creating a nurturing environment and remain open seven days a week to accommodate the needs of our animals and potential adopters.

How We Save Lives

With room for about 20 dogs and 80 cats (plus more in foster care), our shelter offers comprehensive adoption services, low-cost spay-neuter and vaccinations, and funds animal transports to high-adoption shelters.

Our Mission
