Sadie and Petey Wedding

Those of us who have loved and cared for them for nearly three years would like to announce the nuptials of Sadie and Petey, former residents of the Nelson County Humane Society/SPCA Almost Home Pet Adoption Center.  They were married on Friday, August 20, at 3:00 PM on the Mallard’s Run Farm in Keswick, Virginia.  The bride wore an old Vera Wagg hat and the groom sported a new Bow-Wow tie.  Sadie’s friend Tweed was her maid of honor and Petey’s friend Remy was best dog.  During a chaotic wedding reception (catered by Dog Party Catering) the couple danced to “You Ain’t Nothin But a Hound Dog” and Sadie kicked off her borrowed blue garter in the process.  The happy couple ended their glorious day by moving into their long awaited “forever home” on that same property.
