Sweet Melissa is a Hound (mix) who is about 18 months old and weighs 51 pounds.  When she was vetted and spayed on 1/26/21 she tested NEGATIVE times 4 on her 4DX test—this is always GREAT news.  She has such a good nature and was even sweet during her vet appointment.

Melissa is the definition of hound—ready to go, full of play, a strong voice when needed, good-natured, and most of all lovable.

Her sleek tri-colored coat begs you to touch it, and if you do, she will reward you with giddy happiness. This type of coat is an easy keeper—a few sweeps with a soft bristle brush and occasional bath will keep her looking perfect.

Melissa is an athletic dog that is looking for fun and direction.  At only 18 months old and 51 pounds, she is just moving out of being a pup and ready to learn all the lessons to become a great home companion.  She loves attention and treats, and toys make her really pay attention.  (A treat motivated dog is often a dog who learns things quickly because they love being rewarded with delicious things.)  So far, she thinks all people are wonderful and when I introduced her to our cats, she thought they were interesting, but she was respectful toward them.

This healthy girl needs active folks willing to put a little time in to teach her what she should know. Exercise is important so an enclosed yard where she can run, play games, and fetch balls is ideal.
